"I have been designing and supplying the finest hand embroidered (bullion) badges for 10 years on the internet and it would be true to say that during that period I have supplied literally thousands, but from time to time a project comes along that I can only describe as being a really important work. It may be a wedding Coat of Arms that will be passed from one generation to another, or perhaps it is researching and replacing a worn out blazer badge that meant so much to an aging veteran. Below is a sampling from a series of Canadian military blazer badges that we were commissioned to produce for the Museum de Voltigeurs, Quebec. The complete collection will be on permanent display beside the original cap badges of each regiment. Perhaps the next time you are passing through Quebec you will take the time to call and view the entire collection and see the many artifacts dedicated to the oldest French Canadian regiment. Located in the Voltigeurs de Québec armoury, a national heritage building with the largest suspended wood ceiling in the country, there is a permanent exhibition of the regiment’s weapons, uniforms and medals as well as valuable pieces like the Vimy Bell and regimental drums. Salut," Sheila. Museum

Display cases in the Voltiguers museum. To our many online visitors from around the world. The fact that French has survived in North America for four centuries is no accident of history. If French continues to be spoken in Canada today, it is thanks to the courage, tenacity and creativity of generation upon generation of Francophones who brought their old-world values and hopes to the new world and helped them take root and grow. |
